Program Description:

The Total Achievement Program (TAP) serves youth, who have emotional disabilities and are in need of consistent, intensive, therapeutic support to maintain their current placements at home, in a foster home, and in school. It is a therapeutic milieu program that operates after school, during school vacations and summers, focusing on building positive peer relationships and managing behaviors in a group setting. Ages served are between 6 and 12 years old. TAP staff works closely with the youth’s family and the schools to support each client’s educational success as well as with community agencies as part of a comprehensive treatment team.

Job Description:

TAP in Sandwich, MA is seeking a full time therapeutic counselor, who is flexible and enthusiastic to work with children. The therapeutic counselor will be part of a treatment team that provides group counseling, as well as recreational activities for emotionally troubled children in a structured environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to facilitating group therapy sessions, leading structured activities geared toward teaching social skills and age-appropriate peer interactions as well as developing Individual Action Plans and safety plans. Provide case management and work collaboratively with other providers within the community.


Ø Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Ø Experience working with latency age children.

Ø Behavior modification experience a plus.

Ø Valid Driver’s license required.
